BGMFK or Brain (BantouRythms And INstrumentation) Gang Money F*ckin Kills is a group of producers, rappers and singers founded in 2011 in Washington DC by Micky R and Troy. BGMFK 2.0 gathers MickyR, Troy, JeyRspctMe, YvyRealkiller and Rickbeatz (beatmaker).
First known for their mixtape ZOO, the crew slaloms between rap and RnB, mixing poetry and their passion for African rhythms, with urban and contemporary sounds. The artists of the group also manage solo carriers which allows them to better reunite for the collective projects.
They blew on the international scene with the single “Caira” which got them to enter the Trace Urban Hip-Hop 10 Africa for the first time in Novermber 2015. By the first half of 2016, they would then release a series of international singles including MwanaPopi, Le Meilleur, Malembe, which would be played on MTV, A+ and other international TV channels.
Malembe, one of their biggest hit will quickly catch the attention of big names in the industry, like Pitt Baccardi (a pioneer in the game), MagaliWora (Viacom, ROCKSTAR4000), but also the boss of French Rap, Booba himself. Booba will, many times, show his support through his social media platforms and on his radio and TV channel (OKLM).
In July 2016, BGMFK releases SYSTEM. The project gathers 11 titles with diverse collaborations under the concept of Afro Street. Among the artists invited in the project we find Nix (African Victory), Mike Bgrz (Universal Music), and some youngsters of the Gabonese music: Heavenboy, Mosess and MR King. One year later, in August 2017, BGMFK releases SYSTEM RELOADED, which gathers the top songs of the previous project, plus new singles - Tupac, EncaisseSeulement, Aniambie, My Love - which would be broadcasted in international channels.
Today, at the head of an independent label called Club Classic (clubclvssic.com), BGMFK is looking towards 2018 with new projects. Currently working on TSAR (Tout Systèmes’AutoRégule), BGMFK wants to offer to its fans a new direction through this album. The new project promises big collaborations and a strong Afro street color. Artists like Sarkodie, Mr. Eazi, Says’z and Mike Bgrz are invited on the projects.
